Beginners: Easy Ways to Make Money

Beginners: Easy Ways to Make Money

That's what we all want to know, isn't it? Forget about working hard for money if you don't have to. When it comes to making money online, you can end up working harder for money online than you could at your day job IF you don't know what you're doing.

More specifically, I mean targeting the wrong type of traffic.

You see, when I started out trying to make money online I didn't know shit. I looked at people like John Chow and Shoe Money and thought "damn, I could make easy money from home''. I mean look at these guys. When I read about making easy money with Adsense ads, I thought of all the billions of searches done on the internet each day and how all they had to do was click an ad on a website I set up an walked away from and I'd get rich quick.

Well, it's just not that simple.

As you know by now, I'm sure. Needless to the urge to make easy money was too much for me so I decided to try it for myself and follow the advice of social bloggers like John Chow, Shoe Money, Blogging Experiment, etc.

So I set up a nice little social MMO blog and waited for the money to roll in...and waited....and waited....and waited some more....

All in all I made about $60 in six months. That's sure as hell nothing to quit your day job over. LOL. All along the way I was questioning what went wrong. What am I doing wrong? When will I start making money? Do I have all of the same affiliate programs on my MMO blog that John Chow has? Yep. Check. Well, why am I not making any freaking money?

All good questions with an obvious answer.

There are two types of traffic: social traffic and search traffic. One will make you work your ass off for next to nothing and the other will pay your bills, maybe even take the place of your day job. Social traffic is primarily comprised of other bloggers and everyone and their mother knows that other bloggers don't spend money!

The other kind of traffic is search traffic, the name says it all-regular people who do Google searches for something when they want it. This kind of traffic is willing to spend money when they find what they're looking for.

Looking for an easy ways to make money? Stop targeting the wrong type of traffic! Stop putting the same affiliate ads on your MMO blog that every other blogger in the world has on their own MMO blog because that market is tapped out and all the people who were interested in buying have already bought or seen enough of the same shit.

The easiest way to make money is to find yourself a niche that you can rank well in-I'm talking about number 1 in Google or at least somewhere on the 2nd page of G's SERPs. After you do that most of the so called work is done. Then put Adsense on you MMO blog.

Sounds easy, huh?

Yeah, it does. All you really need is enough search traffic so that you get at least a 5-6% CTR and you will start to make money without having to work for it...so to speak. Think of it this way:

  • By targeting search traffic, you will have regular people who are willing to spend money visiting your MMO blog day in, day out.
  • You don't have to post a new article every freakin day or worry about developing a readership. Don't get me wrong here, readership is great but it will not make you any money. Only unique search traffic will. (More on this later.)
  • With the extra time you've got from not having such a rigorous posting schedule you will be able to enjoy being at home and not spend so much time isolated in front of your computer.

If you want to "work from home", that's great. But you gotta know what you're doing before you quit your day job or else you probably will not have a decent payday any time soon. Following social bloggers is a waste of time. Building a social MMO blog will be more work for much less than you make at your day job.

I don't want to give any of my MMO beginners here the wrong impression...you can learn things from social bloggers, but you can't make money being a social blogger. It's just not practical. John Chow can't even replicate his own success. He was challenged once to take a blog from scratch and make it into another John Chow dot com success and he couldn't do it. The truth is that he used black hat SEO to get where he is today. He got busted by G on it and it doesn't work anymore. But enough about John Chow...

My point is that unless you're an MMO authority like John Chow or Shoe Money, you will be wasting your time trying to make money as a social blogger. I honestly didn't know the difference when I started out in MMO. I wasted a lot of time and effort going in the wrong direction because I didn't know the beginners basics. It is imperative for make money online beginners (MMO beginners) to know the difference between search traffic and social traffic before you get in too deep. It sets the tone for the your entire MMO blog. Pick your niche wisely. Rank high for as many keywords as possible for your niche. Don't monetize your MMO blog until you're indexed in Google or have written at least 10 posts or more. Avoid writing for social traffic because it will not lead to a payday for you. These are for beginners easy ways to make money.

Making Money Online for Beginners

Make Money Online for Beginners.

If you want to learn how to make money online and you're a beginner, then you've found the right place. I think it's best at the start of things to take inventory and access where we're at in the "make money online"niche.

Just because you're an MMO beginner doesn't necessarily mean that you've come to the table empty handed. You may know more than you think you know already.

In case you already know what I'm talking about, please know that I am not and I will not intentionally insult any one's intelligence here. I'm just going to write my MMO blog for beginners who know nothing about making money online at all. Period.

Before you even think about starting to make money blogging online you should have a blog. There are two types of blogging platforms: self-hosted and hosted.
  • If you choose to go the self-hosted route, you will be responsible for everything: programming, paying a hosting fee every month, fixing your own problems, buying a domain, etc. Going it self-hosted as a beginner is not a good idea at all, unless you're coming to the table with a background in programming and you've got great technical skills already. Like I said earlier, not all beginners are the same.
  • For those of you who aren't technical wizards or programmers, choosing a hosted platform like Blogger or Wordpress is an excellent place to make money online for free. Blogger and Wordpress will host your blog for free and you will not have to buy a domain name unless you just want to kick out the .blogspot.com or .wordpress.com part. You don't need any technical skills at all with a hosted platform. If you have any issues, you have people to help you or fix them for you.

Just a quick summary of the differences between Wordpress and Blogger for MMO purposes:

The free way to make money blogging with Blogger differs slightly from Wordpress in that Blogger allows you to use Adsense whereas you aren't permitted to put Adsense on Wordpress without buying their VIP package. You can however use affiliate links on Wordpress to make some extra money.

For me, I prefer using Blogger for MMO purposes because they allow you to put Adsense on your blog which gives you one more way to make money than Wordpress. Blogger has a huge edge with Adsense. If you're serious about making money online you should be serious about Adsense. (Will post more on Adsense latter.)

Starting an MMO blog for free is easy.

Go to blogger.com or wordpress.com and follow their step by step process and you will have your own make money online blog or whatever blog you want in less than 2 minutes. It's so easy that you can't possibly mess up. If you do have trouble...don't be embarrassed, send me an email or a post and let me know how I can help you. You will hear me say this a lot, I am all about helping beginners make money online.

Keep in mind that you can make as many blogs for free as you want with hosted platforms like Blogger or Wordpress.

You may already have some ideas about how you want to make money online or you may not at this point. Either way it's fine. I can give you suggestions if you're stumped. Just let me know via email or by posting a comment.

Here are some basic ways to make money online for beginners:

  • selling a product that you've created or that you buy wholesale
  • join an affiliate program or many affiliate programs
  • use your content to make money with Adsense
  • use Adsense and affiliate programs with great content
  • add a donation plugin to your page
  • create a membership blog

Again these are basic free ways to earn money online as a beginner trying to make money online blogging. You don't have to use all of them, but I do highly recommend that you focus on making money with Adsense and or making money with affiliate programs because they're the easiest ways for beginners to make money online. The great thing about Adsense is that nobody has to buy anything for you to make money, all they have to do is click your ad and you make money. It's called CPC or cost per click-you get money per click. If you do use Adsense, do not click your own ads because you will get banned by Google and lose the opportunity to make money with Adsense forever.

Whoa, looks like we might be getting ahead of ourselves here. I should probably dedicate a whole post on making money with Adsense later.

Back to our original topic now, making money online for beginners. I want you to think about how you want to make money online. Do you want to write content and use Adsense as your only source of income? Do you want to make money online blogging about making money? Do you want to earn extra money with affiliate programs?

I think that's long enough for today. We will pick up here next time. Until then, make a plan for earning extra income online. Also feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns you have about getting started with your make money online venture.

MMO for Beginners

Welcome to MMO for beginners.

Who says all the great URLs are taken these days? It just doesn't get any better than this one. Just in case you're not sure what I mean by MMO here is a break down for you "Make Money Online".

You can take this introductory post as lesson one if you're a beginner. In this post we will cover beginners basics and other useful concepts for making money online.

The nicest piece of advice for making money online today is to choose your URL wisely. Ideally, you want to include your keywords in your URL because it is the first thing to get crawled on your site and you want to set it straight from the beginning what your site is about.

If you were going to write a blog about SEO (search engine optimization) you should try to find some way to get that in your URL. For example, I'm sure this one's already taken-seo.com would be great, but since that one's taken you will have to get creative and include another keyword with SEO to make it work for you. Putting your primary keyword in your blog's URL is easy SEO for MMO beginners.

Ok...so what else can I teach you?

You can expect to hear new ways to make money as well as learn how to make money online. And you can certainly expect to learn how not to make money online.

This niche is extremely competitive. You should know that from the start. If you're expecting to "get rich quick" you will be very disappointed. If you're going to make money online blogging you've got to be willing to put in the time and effort it takes to climb your way to the top of the SERPs (search engine ranking pages).

Sorry if I'm discouraging you or insulting your intelligence by telling you this, but I don't know what level you're at or what your expectations are for my blog about making money. Obviously this is an MMO blog for beginners and I want to address issues for beginners primarily. Now if I can help anyone else out along the way that's great.

Along with my tips for making money blogging, I will also give you some great links to other blogs about MMO or SEO. Most MMO gurus will never admit to you that someone else may know more about search engine optimization or making money online than they do, but not me. If there's something that another blog has to offer that will be beneficial to you in an area that I can't help you with, you better believe I'm going to say check out this guy's blog or that one. It's all about helping each other out.

While this niche is competitive, it boils down to how good YOU are at what you're doing and how beneficial your blog is to others. Anyways, that's probably long enough for today. Don't want to give anyone information overload on the first day here at MMO for Beginners!

Until next time,

Chao!
